Asian cooks – work permit for 2 years
As of 1 October 2016 a new Regulation for Asian cooks will enter into force: ‘Regeling Aziatische Horeca’. This regulation is for a duration of 3 years. Under this regulation employers can apply for a work permit without a Dutch labor market test. The regulation is for Asian cooks with level 4 to 6. The skills and qualifications of the cooks can be shown by a diploma and / or certificate(s). De work permit can be issued for a duration of 2 years.
The employer has however also certain obligations once the work permit is received. During the validity of the issued work permit for the Asian cook, the employer must employ a kitchen assistant (‘keukenmedewerker’) with at least level 2 for the duration of 1 year, or the employer must create an education work place for a cook from the Netherlands, EER of Switserland.
In the first year of this regulation a maximum 1800 work permits for Asian cooks can be issued, a maximum of 1400 work permits in the second year, and 1000 work permits in the last year.
