European Parliament and Council propose Directive for seasonal employment
The purpose of the proposal is to introduce a special procedure for the entry and residence of third-country nationals applying to reside in the EU for seasonal employment. Seasonal work is not only the planting or harvesting period in agriculture, or the holiday period in tourism, but also includes events, festivals, biennales or long term exhibitions in culture. The maximum period of stay is set at six months in any calendar year. A fast-track procedure of 30 days is provided for examining applications.
