I came to Sander with an extremely urgent and complicated immigration case. I was only days away from losing my right to work, which would have put my job at risk and could ultimately have meant having to leave the Netherlands, where I have built my life over the past two years.
From our first conversation, Sander immediately understood both the legal issue and how urgent my situation was. He took the time to properly research my specific case as a Turkish national, explained everything to me clearly, and was always honest about the possible outcomes. I never felt like I was just another case.
What impressed me most was how much he genuinely fought for my case. He prepared the objection and urgent court proceedings within a very short timeframe, responded quickly when the IND contested our case, kept strengthening our arguments with additional evidence, and personally followed up with the court several times when the deadline was getting dangerously close.
In the end, the court ruled in our favour without even requiring a hearing and confirmed that I can continue working while my application is pending. After weeks of uncertainty and being told repeatedly that I would not be allowed to work, the relief I felt when Sander sent me that decision is difficult to describe.
