MVV visa and Corona
Under normal circumstances an MVV visa has to be requested and collected within 90 days of the date on the IND’s approval letter. Due to Covid-19, all consular desks of Dutch embassies and Dutch consulates general are closed until April 6th. Depending on how the current situation develops, this period may be extended.
As a result, you cannot pick up your MVV during this period.
When you have not yet collected your MVV visa and the embassy is closed, contact the embassy per e-mail. The embassy is independently authorized to extend the date by which you have to collect the MVV visa. This can be extended for another period of 3 months. What to do when you have collected your MVV visa, it is about to expire and you can’t fly to the Netherlands?
Under normal circumstances, once you have collected your MVV visa, you have 90 days to travel into the Netherlands and collect your residence permit card.
If you are already in possession of an MVV, you fall under the exceptional category and you can – if possible – travel to the Netherlands. You will be granted entry.
When you have collected your MVV visa, it is about to expire and you can’t fly to the Netherlands, contact the Dutch embassy or Dutch consulate general that issued you the MVV visa per e-mail.
The embassy is independently authorized to extend the validity date of the MVV visa sticker, the date by which you must travel to the Netherlands and collect your residence permit for a period of 90 days.
