Dutch returning expat: rules easened
Dutch returning expats with his/her non EU dependents must also qualify for the Dutch Immigration rules for family reunification. Hurdle for Dutch expats in this situation is often the income requirement. The Dutch expat has to have an employment contract for at least one year at the date he/she applies for the MVV-visa and residence permit. The Dutch Secretary of State finally has acknowledged this difficult situation. He has confirmed to the Dutch parliament that the Dutch Immigration Service will in these situations make an individual assessment of the specific case, taking into account all special circumstances.
