Modern Migration Policy Act: 1 June 2013
On 1 June 2013 the Modern Migration Policy Act (Momi) will enter into force. The State Secretary of Justice and Security announced this in his letter to parliament. Expectations are that immigration procedures will be faster. Also the provisional residence permit visa (MVV) and the application procedure for a residence permit will be combined into a single procedure. Sponsors and migrants will get statutory obligations under the Momi. Non-compliance with these obligations can be fined. Employers of highly skilled migrants who do not fulfill the administrative obligations may be fined for EUR 3,000.
