Penalty for illegal employment increased
The financial penalty for employment of foreigners in violation of the Act on Employment of Foreigners will be considerably increased. Currently a fine of EUR 8,000 per employee can be imposed to a company employing foreigners in breach of this Act. The penalty will be raised to EUR 12,000 for a first violation. In case of a second and third violation, the penalty will be EUR 24,000 and EUR 36,000. It will also be possible to shut down operations in case a company has been in breach several times. The minister of Social Affairs will sent a Bill to the parliament in which these changes are proposed.
