Mitigation fine illegal employment

A fine was imposed for illegal employment of an intern. The court has mitigated this fine by 75 percent. The High Administrative Court in high appeal ruled the same in her ruling of 10 August 2011 (nr. 201102634/1). Important circumstances to mitigate the fine were the following. The employer, after finding out that the foreigner had the Senegalese nationality, inquired by different government institutions regarding conditions for legal stay. There was no salary paid to the intern, no work contract and there was no commercial interest.
